Martin Luther King Art Activity
I woke up this morning and thought to myself – What activity can I do that is simple and explains a little bit about what today (Martin Luther King Day) is all about. The first thing that popped into my head was PEACE.
At this stage in my daughter’s life, I don’t feel the need to explain MLK day in complete detail. However, I do feel it is important she knows who he is and what he stood for – that is where the word PEACE comes in. We talked about Martin Luther King and how he represented PEACE and LOVE for all.
With that being said there was NO better way to represent MLK day than making a peace symbol!
Heres what we you’ll need:
- Paper Plate
- Painters Tape
- Water Color
- Place painters tape on the paper plate to create a peace symbol.
- Use watercolors and paints all over the paper plate.
- Once dry – remove the painter’s tape!
Quick. Simple. Minimal materials – those are the best activities!
Hope you enjoyed MLK day as much as we did!
