The ‘Sorry I Haven’t Blogged in a While’ Post

It was bound to happen eventually and today is the day for the Island Mom Life blog aka ME. This is my ‘sorry  I haven’t  blogged in a while post’.

Truly, I have been swarmed with so many happenings over the past months (not that I am complaining) that blogging had to take a short hiatus. And only recently have I had the opportunity to take some time out for a short breather and think about all that has transpired over the past couple of months. The question is where shall I start?

The Move

In July we moved from Waikiki to Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oahu.  Which doesn’t seem like much of a change, but for Oahu, it’s a pretty big one. In Waikiki, you are conveniently located to everything and on the North Shore you are far from EVERYTHING. Junior and I have been townies for as long as we have lived here so this was a pretty big move for us. This move took a lot of planning mentally and physically.

But the BIGGEST bummer was when we got to our new home it was left in shambles. We spent the first two weeks cleaning EVERYTHING and painting EVERYTHING. In August, the house finally seemed to come together.

A New School

In July I started teaching at a new school, Sunset Beach Elementary. Which I am thrilled about, but as you could imagine starting at a new school means a bunch of new information and a TON of work to accomplish. This has been my dream school ever since I moved to the Island. I’ve wanted to raise my family here and here we are!

I know these two things don’t seem like much, but believe me, we have been ALL over the place. I am FINALLY starting to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Plus the waves are starting to pick up which is ALWAYS a good thing in Hawaii!

I really can not wait to share my adventures with you all as we embark on this new Journey!

Ah! I almost forgot to mention in the mix of it all we went swimming with sharks, I got certified to teach Shakti Flow, and we had some awesome photoshoots, but those stories will have to wait!
